Youth Firearms Program

Welcome to the Hay River Shooting Club’s

Youth Firearms Program.

In this program you will learn all about firearms safety and the safe way to handle and store firearms. The general safety guidelines will carry over to anything firing a projectile from a hand held device, yes even a bean gun. After the safety training is completed you will learn the basic skills of proper shooting at the same time as practicing safety. Our main goal is to have fun shooting while maintaining safety at every level.…updated March 31, 2016

There are two general types of air guns (also known as BB guns, pellet guns, spring guns or air soft guns):

  • air (pneumatic system), and
  • spring (spring-air)

A third type, gas (CO2/nitrogen), even though they are not, strictly speaking, “air guns,” are subject to the same rules set out below.
